The California Association of Mortgage Brokers promotes the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct, among which are expert knowledge, accountability, fair lending, and service to our clients and our community. In concert with this mission statement, is our commitment to quality education and certification programs.

The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) has developed a certification program to recognize mortgage industry professionals who have attained the highest levels of professional expertise. As a NAMB State Partner Affiliate, we have access to their certification programs.

There are two professional designations offered that require specific industry-related experience: Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS) and Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC). Mortgage industry professionals must meet specified requirements of experience and knowledge in practicing mortgage brokering and must pass a written examination before receiving a designation.

We believe that as consumers search for a mortgage industry professional to assist them in financing one of the largest investments in their lifetime, they will be more inclined to select a mortgage professional who has taken additional steps to increase his or her industry knowledge to better serve clients.
