Welcome to CAMB University—the California Association of Mortgage Brokers Education & Research Foundation!

Professional development adds value to your business through enhanced credibility with your client. CAMB has made great strides since embarking on our education program—it is our commitment to provide quality education and enhanced professional development programs to individuals in the mortgage industry. At the 2005 Convention, we announced that CAMB would be forming an education foundation—the CAMB Education & Research Foundation—a separately incorporated, nonprofit organization that can receive tax-deductible charitable contributions from individuals or corporations as stipulated by the Internal Revenue Code. Incorporated in September 2005, the basic purpose of the Foundation is to acquire resources from public, private, and government sector sources to develop educational, scholarship, and research programs related to the mortgage broker industry for the benefit of the general public.

Among its specific purposes, the Foundation shall:

  • help ensure that California has an adequate number of well-trained and well-educated, certified, and diverse workers in the mortgage broker industry by providing access to educational and training opportunities in all aspects of the mortgage industry.
  • conduct educational and training programs.
  • establish community outreach programs. This booklet is designed to provide a brief overview of the Foundation and to give individuals or organizations an opportunity to make a contribution. The Foundation depends on the contributions from individuals and corporations to administer education, training, and community outreach programs. The Foundation is tax-exempt as a charitable foundation. Individuals and corporations may contribute any amount, which would be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.

CAMB Education & Research Foundation Mission Statement

The CAMB Education & Research Foundation is dedicated to providing high quality education, expanding professional development, and promoting compliance with state and federal laws within the mortgage brokerage community. We are committed to enhancing the opportunity for and experience of home ownership by providing consumer education and protection, and teaching lending practices that foster integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality when working with consumers.
